Creation of RX_RING failed error 12

Hi,

I restarted our Trisul probes today after a long time and getting the following error

Sat Dec 30 17:33:11 2017.742784 FATAL FilterRXRing: setsockopt: creation of rx ring failed: 12
Sat Dec 30 17:33:11 2017.742824 FATAL Unable to configure rx ring buffer

Any idea. This is a busy server monitoring 6x1G ports each in a separate Trisul context.

Hi,

This means RXRING cannot allocate memory required for the ring.

Possible Reasons

too many trisul contexts running on one box.
try reducing the size of each ring. Go to Profiles > Capture Adapter > Edit - scroll down to the RXRING and select an Ring Size (Exponent) - the default is 12 ( i.e 2 ^ 12 = 8K). If you have allocated more than that try reducing that.
